The Olsen twins: from enfant-prodige to fashion designer and trendsetters.

Dec 01, 2022Jessica

Those of us who are now over 30-and now considered boomers by the newest generation-will surely remember America's most famous twins from the 1990s.

Always passionate about design, they are now designers for one of the most highly regarded and recognized brands in the New York fashion market.

The Row - that's the name of their brand - was born in 2006 from the idea of Ashley Olsen, who wanted to make a small collection of iconic boho-chic pieces to have in her closet: the perfect white cotton T-shirt, leggings to wear with an over blazer, and a soft, loose-fitting dress.

The Olsen sisters are to be credited with style, the kind worn on the red carpets and on the catwalk, which has won them several awards from the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) and sign various collaborations such as one with Oliver Peoples.

And then to follow their line of shoes, bags, sunglasses, a men's RTW collection, and finally-a project from last year-a collection of three extrait persona fragrances available only in their flagship stores.

The Olsens are proving they know how to get the job done, and further confirmation comes from the very high demand they are receiving on some products that have become iconic and trendy. Remember the Banana Bag? Or the very simple and very refined nude lace-up sandal?

Among the latest are the Zip-front Boots, launched in 2019, which for years have continued to be the coolest ankle boots for the colder months, prized especially for their comfort, recommended by top stylists and worn by models and celebrities such as Zoë Kravitz, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Jennifer Lawrence and Penelope Cruz.

With a rubber sole, made of brushed calfskin or suede and available in a variety of colors, this ankle boot boasts the distinction of Be no-gender, suitable for all styles and comfortable to wear especially on the worst cold days. The zipped boots of The Row are available on the brand's website at a price of 1,450.00 euros.

Other brands over the years-whether luxury or fast fashion chains, there is something for every budget! - have reproduced the style.

Our advice? Buy one at a more affordable price without sacrificing a quality and soft leather, a not-too-heavy rubber sole, and a minimal line such as these:

Zipped boots leather black € 279.00 (also available brown suede)

The Row - zipped boots € 1,450.00
